What we know about it
Haitian lore holds that Jean-Jacques Dessalines created the first flag at the Congress of Arcahaie on 18 May 1803 by tearing the white centre out of a French tricolor, and that his god-daughter Catherine Flon sewed the remaining bands together; the anniversary is celebrated as Flag and Universities Day. Until 1937 Liechtenstein's flag was the same two bands: the match was first noted at the 1936 Summer Olympics, and Haiti answered by adding the coat of arms.

Its day
The almanac keeps a page per day of the year that something is dated to. This flag is on one of them, with the sentence that says so.
Nearest in the world
Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
