Colours
Read from the flag itself, down to the exact shade.
- #bf0a30
- #ffffff
- #00205b
Other flags with red, white or blue or all of red, white and blue at once.
How it is put together
Measured off the picture, the same way the colours were, not from anybody's description of it.
- 11 horizontal bands
The fly edge changes colour going down, the foot does not, and every change is a straight line right across.
- a canton
A rectangle in the top corner by the pole that is not what the rest of the flag is, and that stops cleanly on both its sides.
What is on it
Each of these is what this flag's own Wikipedia article says is on it, the sentence is underneath, so you can see what it rests on.
- star
The Liberian flag has similar red and white stripes, as well as a blue square with a white star in the canton.

What we know about it
A committee of seven women redesigned the flag before independence: Governor Joseph Jenkins Roberts asked Susannah Elizabeth Lewis to head it, and the others were Matilda Newport, Rachel Johnson, Mary Hunter, Sarah McGill Russwurm, Colonette Teage Ellis and Sara Draper, all of them born in the United States. The flag they designed came in on 24 August 1847, about a month after independence was declared, and 24 August became Flag Day by an act President Daniel Edward Howard signed on 24 October 1915. The eleven stripes are the signatories of the Liberian Declaration of Independence, the white star the first independent republic in Africa, the blue square the African continent.

Its days
The almanac keeps a page per day of the year that something is dated to. This flag is on 2 of them, with the sentence that says so.
Nearest in the world
Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
