Why most of the year is missing

A day is here when a sentence in a flag's own English Wikipedia article puts something on it. 202 of the 254 flags have at least one such sentence; the rest have articles that talk about their flag without ever dating anything to the day, and no amount of reading turns a year into a date.

So the gaps are gaps in what has been written down, not days on which nothing happened. Nothing here was worked out from a year, no date was rounded to make a page exist, and a day with nothing on it gets no page rather than a page saying so.
