How it is put together
Measured off the picture, the same way the colours were, not from anybody's description of it.
- 3 vertical bands
The foot changes colour going along, the fly edge does not, and every change is a straight line top to bottom.
What we know about it
In 1975 a royal commission was set up to resolve the island's constitutional status, and four years after that it was granted a legislative assembly of its own, and this flag has flown over the territory since 6 June 1979. Royal assent for the bill behind the Norfolk Island Flag and Public Seal Act 1979 came on 17 January 1980; it specifies an aspect ratio of 1:2 and Pantone Matching System 356 for the green, without giving any further detail on the white. The pine in the centre is native to the territory and is its official tree.

Its day
The almanac keeps a page per day of the year that something is dated to. This flag is on one of them, with the sentence that says so.
Nearest in the world
Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
