How it is put together

Nothing the measurement has a word for. It reads eight shapes off a picture: bands, a canton, a wedge at the pole, a disc. This flag is not any of them, so the space is left empty rather than filled with a description nobody took. The finder says what else it cannot see.

What is on it

Each of these is what this flag's own Wikipedia article says is on it, the sentence is underneath, so you can see what it rests on.

  • star

These are surrounded by a red border charged with six five-pointed yellow stars – three at the top centre and three at the bottom centre – along with an additional star on a red disc at the centre and a nutmeg at the hoist triangle.

What we know about it

Anthony C. George, a Grenadian from Soubise in Saint Andrew Parish, created the design; at midnight on 7 February 1974, the day of independence, it was hoisted, and the government adopted it that same day. It maintained the nutmeg symbol from the temporary flag in use since 1967, and eschewed the commonly used arrangement of a tricolour. The stars on the border are the country's parishes, while the star on the disc at the centre signifies Carriacou and Petite Martinique, counted as the seventh parish; the nutmeg is one of the primary exports, and the country is the second-largest producer in the world, trailing only Indonesia.

Drafted from Flag of Grenada on Wikipedia, as it read on 2026-08-26, and checked back against it: every date, name and number above appears in the sentences it was written from. Nobody here wrote it by hand.

Its day

The almanac keeps a page per day of the year that something is dated to. This flag is on one of them, with the sentence that says so.

Nearest in the world

Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
