How it is put together
Nothing the measurement has a word for. It reads eight shapes off a picture: bands, a canton, a wedge at the pole, a disc. This flag is not any of them, so the space is left empty rather than filled with a description nobody took. The finder says what else it cannot see.
What is on it
Each of these is what this flag's own Wikipedia article says is on it, the sentence is underneath, so you can see what it rests on.

What we know about it
Adopted on 5 December 1995, it combines the layout and colours of the flag of the Eritrean People's Liberation Front with the wreath and upright olive branch of the Eritrean flag of 1952 to 1962, designed by Degiat Beyene Zahilay, outlawed by Haile Selassie, and brought back by Hamid Idris Awate on September 1, 1961. The 30 leaves in the wreath stand for the thirty years spent in the struggle for independence; green is the agriculture and livestock of the country, blue the bounty of the sea and red the bloodshed of that struggle.
Drafted from Flag of Eritrea on Wikipedia, as it read on 2026-08-26, and checked back against it: every date, name and number above appears in the sentences it was written from. Nobody here wrote it by hand.
Its days
The almanac keeps a page per day of the year that something is dated to. This flag is on 2 of them, with the sentence that says so.
Nearest in the world
Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
