How it is put together
Measured off the picture, the same way the colours were, not from anybody's description of it.
- 3 horizontal bands
The fly edge changes colour going down, the foot does not, and every change is a straight line right across.
- a triangle at the pole
A wedge whose base is the whole pole edge, widest halfway down, in a colour the fly side is not painted in.
What we know about it
The design is almost identical to the flag of the Arab Revolt, whose pan-Arab colours were first combined in this style in 1916 and represent four historical Arab dynasties; it has been used since the 1920s, was flown during the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine, and became the official flag of the Palestinian people at the founding of the Palestine Liberation Organization in 1964. A Flag Day has been observed by the State of Palestine every 30 September since 2015, and since 2021 every 2 November it flies at half-mast, to lament the Balfour Declaration of 1917.

Nearest in the world
Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
Pan-Arab Colors
Flags people genuinely mix up. Worth a second look.
