What we know about it
Adopted on 18 February 2006, the flag returns to one flown between 1966 and 1971, with the royal blue of that design changed to sky blue; a new constitution ratified in December 2005 promoted the return. Red is given as the blood of the country's martyrs, yellow as its wealth and the star as the future. It is one of few national flags with a diagonal line, alongside those of Namibia, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, and Brunei.
