Other flags with blue or yellow or all of blue and yellow at once.
How it is put together
Measured off the picture, the same way the colours were, not from anybody's description of it.
- 5 horizontal bands
The fly edge changes colour going down, the foot does not, and every change is a straight line right across.
What is on it
Each of these is what this flag's own Wikipedia article says is on it, the sentence is underneath, so you can see what it rests on.
- star
In the canton or upper hoisting plane of the flag, there is a regular four-pointed star.

What we know about it
The vexillologist Whitney Smith partially designed the flag, adopted on 18 March 1976 together with the official anthem Aruba Dushi Tera; 18 March is National Anthem and Flag Day, and it also marks the Kingdom of the Netherlands giving Aruba an autonomous status. The light blue represents the sea surrounding the island; yellow signifies abundance and solidarity, and the horizontal yellow stripes are for the freedom and distinct status that Aruba achieved within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 1 January 1986.
Drafted from Flag of Aruba on Wikipedia, as it read on 2026-08-26, and checked back against it: every date, name and number above appears in the sentences it was written from. Nobody here wrote it by hand.
Its day
The almanac keeps a page per day of the year that something is dated to. This flag is on one of them, with the sentence that says so.
Nearest in the world
Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
