How it is put together

Measured off the picture, the same way the colours were, not from anybody's description of it.

The foot changes colour going along, the fly edge does not, and every change is a straight line top to bottom.

What we know about it

It was introduced on 27 September 1992 to replace the Soviet-era flag, and on 24 January 2001 a modified version at a 2:3 ratio was adopted; State Flag and Constitution Day is celebrated on 18 May. No official explanation has been given for the symbolism of the colours, but the five traditional carpet guls stand for the five major tribes of Turkmenistan (in traditional order, the Teke, Yomut, Saryk, Chowdur and Ersari) and the five stars are read as the five regions and the Five Pillars of Islam.

Its days

The almanac keeps a page per day of the year that something is dated to. This flag is on 2 of them, with the sentence that says so.

Nearest in the world

Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
