- #0072c6
- #1eb53a
- #ffffff
Other flags with white, blue or green or all of white, blue and green at once.
How it is put together
Measured off the picture, the same way the colours were, not from anybody's description of it.
- 3 horizontal bands
The fly edge changes colour going down, the foot does not, and every change is a straight line right across.
What we know about it
In 1960 the College of Arms formulated and then approved a new coat of arms and flag for Sierra Leone, in anticipation of independence the following year. The arms came first, and its predominant colours went into the creation of the flag, first hoisted at midnight on 27 April 1961. Two years after that, insulting the country's flag became illegal, and so did insulting the flags of friendly nations. Green alludes to the natural resources (agriculture and the mountains), white epitomizes unity and justice, and blue evokes the natural harbour of Freetown and the hope of contributing to world peace.

Its day
The almanac keeps a page per day of the year that something is dated to. This flag is on one of them, with the sentence that says so.
Nearest in the world
Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
