How it is put together
Nothing the measurement has a word for. It reads eight shapes off a picture: bands, a canton, a wedge at the pole, a disc. This flag is not any of them, so the space is left empty rather than filled with a description nobody took. The finder says what else it cannot see.
What is on it
Each of these is what this flag's own Wikipedia article says is on it, the sentence is underneath, so you can see what it rests on.
- saltire
The flag of Jersey is composed of a red saltire on a white field.

What we know about it
A plain red saltire had been used unofficially since at least the 1830s; the current flag, which adds the badge and crown to it, came from the States of Jersey on 12 June 1979, was proclaimed by Queen Elizabeth II on 10 December 1980, and first flew officially on 7 April 1981. Nobody knows where the saltire came from: a letter of 1906, from the Bailiff of Jersey, describes it as the red St Andrew's cross on white ground and says it was used to signal the neutrality of the islands in wars between England and France. Rybot suggested in 1951 that it came from a mistake in a 1783 flag book, but French charts had attributed the flag to Iersé in 1757.

Its days
The almanac keeps a page per day of the year that something is dated to. This flag is on 3 of them, with the sentence that says so.
Nearest in the world
Every flag is compared with every other one, off the pictures themselves. Two copies of one picture score 0; these are the closest to this one. How that is measured.
